Once upon a time...
A posse of creative imagineers got together to brighten up a particularly dreary February.
Fizzy Ginger Beard was an interactive exhibition of Storytelling and Puppetry.
This events pre-dates the formation of The Clockwork Moth, but ought to be recorded for posterity. The main collaborators were: Charlie Scullion, Emily Swann, Marisa Latimer, Scott Harris and Misty Wood.
It lasted a week and was an open environment for the public to come in and make things. There was a drop-in craft area, and lots of workshops for all ages, including illustration and shadow-puppetry (that's where I learned it!). We had storytellers of different traditions, hand-puppetry, shadow-play and lots of contributions of drawings and writings. We finished the event with a lovely shadow-puppet show performed through the window to the moonlit square outside. It was very beautiful, and it opened up the world of shadow-puppetry to me!
